GROUP PROJECT GUIDELINE


GROUP PROJECT (30%) – ACADEMIC PAPER WORK

For the group project, students have to carry out a field-work case study which requires the students to visit a company and conduct the interview(s) with the respective person(s) of the company. Therefore, to fulfil this task:

·         Students are required to form a group consist of 4/5 members to carry out a case study of one particular company which they have to identify themselves.

·         Students are allowed to choose any topic and issues to be analysed from the course syllabus, subject to lecturer approval. Hence, the students are required to submit brief information about their project and it should includes the followings: (OPTIONAL)

1.    Company’s name
2.    Area of study
3.    Issue to study

·         Approval for the topic will be given based on “first come first serve” basis.

·         The final report of the group project should includes the followings:

1.    Introduction – background of your study and highlight the gap – why do you intent to     
             conduct this study?
2.    Literature review – review of previous studies/journal related to the topic.
3.    Objective of the study – explain what to be achieved in the study.
4.    Methodology – describe the method used to collect the data (e.g: case
               study/survey/interview) and explain background of the company.
5.   Findings – analyse and discuss the data and results of the study.
6.    Discussion and conclusion
7.    Limitation – any related constraint that might be deteriorate the findings.
8.    Recommendation – any suggestion related to findings, limitation and future research.
9.    Conclusion conclude the overall results of the study.
10.  References – list down all of the references used in the study. Make sure to write the references by using APA format.
11.  Appendix – enclose at least 10 articles, interview question and other materials used in the study (but you can use article  as many as you can)

·         The project report should be computer printed with these specifications:

·         Project report must be submitted on the day of presentation. Presentation will be held during class on 13rd Nov 2011. Students are advised to present their report in a simple yet knowledgeable manner. Marks will be awarded for contents, teamwork, creativity, presentation and the quality of the report.

·         Hence, students are advised to start the project early and discuss with the lecturer for any problem encounter.

·         Not limit of pages.
